GHS Boomers Bass Strings
![]() | Even though these are nickel roundwound strings and advertised as the middle ground of GHS strings, Boomers are known for being quite bright initially, then mellowing out. |
Some users love them new, others prefer them after mellowing out a bit- many swear by them. They are the most popular string made by GHS, and definitely a quality string for a rather inexpensive price.
Here is a great video from GHS recent string-explanation video series with bassist Dave Pomeroy
A few variations:
Boomers Sub Zero: Cryogenically frozen material, GHS claims "enhances abrasian resistance and fatigue resistance of materials" and thus longer lasting string.
Boomers Flea Custom: Medium gauge boomer set, with a brighter wrapped steel E string.
