Half Round Bass Strings
Half round strings are a nice compromise between roundwound and flatwounds- essentially roundwounds that are partially ground-down, these strings provide a middle ground between the brightness vs. deadness in sound, and metallic roughness vs. smoothness in feel.
If you are torn between the extremes of roundwound and flatwound, half round may be exactly what you are looking for.
