The nylon tapewounds from Fender have a woody tone and good thump- they have good output, though not quite as high as those from Rotosound or LaBella. From the reviews and reports of these strings, some really love them and others find them too dark especially in comparison to the LaBellas. They are definitely worth a try if you are searching for your ideal tapewound.
Here is a video with a sound sample of the fender nylons - they are on an acoustic bass guitar, but in some ways this even further accentuates the character of the strings.
