| Solo Bass 55 | Roundwound | Steel | Hex | "Pressure wound" to reduce finger noise/fret wear |
"Pressure Wound" falls into the same category as "Halfround," "Groundwound" etc. - in that it is a roundwound string modified to have a smooth, flatwound feel- creating a brighter string than flat with much less string noise and high end sparkle than the average roundwound. There is actually not as drastic a difference in sound between these strings and the Rotosound Swing 66 as you might expect, so if you enjoy the sonic character of “Rotos” but have a strong preference for the smooth feel or for minimizing all string noise, these would be an excellent choice.
